Pixel Art

I have been dabbing in pixel art for a while, creating sprites and even trying to animate them. So far the technical aspects of developing sprite sheets and trying out different types of pixel art has been challenging as I haven't been able to get out of this art style I am currently working in.

I enjoy this style of pixel art as it focuses more on colour to define the sprite rather than a black outline. The animation took around half a day however it was worth it to see a sprite I made finally move.

As pixel art has become increasingly popular, I have had thoughts of pursuing it as a career. I didn't think pursuing pixel art was viable as it was such a niche art style. However there are artists that have made a living from freelancing pixel art.

Paul Veer is a freelancer who's work inspired me to try it out in the first place. Having pixel art as your primary way of promoting your art can be a good thing as you have a craft you can really focus on.
