I decided to use moo.com to make my business cards. I liked the idea that my business card would be something you would want to carry around, like a bookmark. The card would focus on the art I produced and my details would be minimal in design. I went with the minicards as they looked like small bookmarks.
Although the focus of the card was on the art, I spent a lot of time working out the contact details. I tried to keep it as simple as possible, referencing the places where people would be able to find me. Methods of contact like twitter, email and tumblr to keep it as open and as easy as possible.
I also found out that there is no great way of saying 'artist that does quite a few things'. Multidisciplinary artist was too much of a mouthful and didn't flow right according to the design. In the end I went with 'Artist: Pixel. Concept. 3D.'. It focuses on the word 'artist' while alluding to the three main disciplines I feel best at.
As the cards focused on my artwork, I spent time going through all of work and selecting the best images for use. I managed to get 12 designs that I liked that featured a range of my work. Although I like the designs, I underestimated how small the images would be in comparison to the size of the business cards. The template on MOO made it hard to determine the size of the image on the card.
I would have liked the images to be slightly bigger, although overall I am happy with my first attempt at making business cards.
