My own Skills

As I want to work on a professional level consistently I have begun analysing my work and being really critical about it all. Being critical helps me to understand my own skills and their relevancy in the industry I want to get into. It helps me to understand what I want to pursue and how I can go about doing it. How I can sell my work in the best way, even though that sounds cold.

My main skills lie in painting and in making art. I don't specialise in any particular field of art. I find that I am a generalist as I have pursued concept art and pixel art as well as technical art like 3D modelling.

The goal is to narrow it down so I can focus on my particular strengths. With concept art, I tend to focus more on people. Focusing on people was a pattern I didn't even see until I began work on FMP. Pursuing the role of a character artist would develop a consistency to my portfolio and it would be something I would be known for doing.

I think my artistic skills have improved over the past year. My understanding of form and colour is better. However I do not produce art work at a professional level consistently which makes me think of pursuing 3D modelling. With 3D modelling. I can produce more work at a level I am happy with.
